right after you get out of the shower dry your hair a little with a towel so its not soaking/dripping on the floor. then comb your hair with a wide-toothed comb (I have a clinque one) and then part your hair into two sections (like for pigtails) but braid your hair.
Put a little herbel essence hair spray gel or john frieda depoofer thing (i think its step 4...its a cream in a tube)
leave your hair in the braids all day and take out maybe 2-3 hrs b4 you go to bed so any remaining wet hair can dry.
This is how i do it...and my hair looks great wavy.
Its a no-fuss way to have 2 different looks in 2 days. One day you wear braids to school and the next you have flawless waves.

you can make straight hair wavy by putting you hair in what they call pin curls.YOUR HAIR MUST BE WET. You take very small pieces of hair and you wrap them around you finger so they are curly then you pin them to your head with bobby pins. Wrap you head in a scarf or a bandana and go to sleep. take the pins out in the morning and your hair will be curl. promise. unless you dont do it right

you can go to your stylist and ask for a body wave...its kinda like a perm but its not tight kinky curls...their more loose :)

Curly hair...brush it out when wet and apply a light gel or something... and it will become wavy..............and for straight hair...use a round brush or a curling iron. Witht the curliing iron, don't roll it, but start at the top of a small chunk of hair and turn it, then move it down and do it again.

to make straight hair wavy, braid your hair right after you wash it and sleep with them overnight. i'm not sure about curly hair but i'm sure a gel would help. or just use a straightner.
