maybe you should cut it a bit and thin it out if you think it's too thick. Try different shampoo's and conditioners. You should never use the same one over and over. I've seen that some women with short hair do look better, it depends on how you fix it. If you do cut it and don't really like it you can always let grow back. Plus, from what my wife goes through, coloring and highlights and all that chemical stuff in your hair doesn't help either. Try the VO-5 treatment.

If you're not too emotionally attached to it (serioulsy, some girls are!) I would get it cut. It will make it look healthier and probably be much more manageable.

Why not seek the advice of a good stylist? Mine was a mess (long) and I just got a good cut w/layers and she razored out a lot of the weight. It feels and looks much better. Long hair is a pain, I agree. Mine has a lot of body, also and it's a job to attempt to have it straight.

But if you have the right product and there are many out there just for wavy hair..go to an upscale salon near you..believe me it's worth it! They can introduce you to the latest and what would work best for you!

if u do decide to get it cut only cut a couple of inches, and ask the hairdresser to chemically straighten your hair (might be a little expensive but its worth it). DO NOT DO IT YOURSELF!!!!!

If your hair is that long and still has a wave then you actually have curly hair. Get a couple of inches off the back and ask for a layered cut done with a razor - not a blunt scissor cut. Your hair will still be very long but the outside layers will be short enough to hold a curl. it'll look beautiful. By the way, stop trying to straighten your hair, you have to learn to work with your hairs texture not against it.

I was just the same until I tried this: Buy a nice shampoo and conditioner that smooths your hair. For example, try Matrix Sleek look or anything that is intended to make your hair straight. When your hair is still damp, try a little bit of Fredric Fekkai Luscious Curls lotion. Scrunch your hair while you blow dry it with a blowdryer. Once your hair is completely dry, curl sections of your hair with a ceramic curler. Voila! You would be amazed of the results and you will never think about cutting your hair.

I have curly hair also, and hate it, but have learned to control it. When out of the shower use a brush or comb and (I preffer) a liquid gel, just spritz it all over then a little hair spray, then just shake it out. DON'T USE A BRUSH AFTERWARDS it destroys the curl . Let it dry naturally or with a hairdryer by just scattering the hot air all over, to loosen the curls. I bet this works.

Cutting your hair might not solve the issue.

Try baby oil in your hair .. of course wash it off.
