I have very thick hair and i just cant seem to tame it. It is naturally wavy but when i wear it wavy, it looks like a perm gone wrong! I have tried many shampoos masques etc but none of them work. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to tame my hair?

my hair is really thick and wavey too. try deep conditioners, leave in conditioners and heat protective spray. then straighten your hair. when u straighten it do it in sections. like pin it up and straighten it bit by bit. thats what i do and my hair goes dead straight. im no good at explaining stuff but i hope that sort of helps......

there are a million and one things that you can do to combat this problem
1 have hair thinned out 2 have a chemical streightner 3 use a good shampoo and conditioner for thisck frizzy hair 4 use a good set of strigtners

I have thick curly hair and hate it, but then again you know the saying,never happy with the hair you have. I have a friend who is a hairdresser and she puts layers in my hair which really helps with the frizzies. I have brought everything too, only thing i swear by now is the conditoners for thick curly hair as it really helps throughout the day. Go to a salon and ask the hairdressers there. they are trained to help w/ all kinds of hair types and should be able to suggest different styles for you. Good luck!

Unfortunately hair with natural texture is not always uniformly textured and can have a very out-of control look. What I have done for some of my clients is put in a body wave to give the hair a uniform wave. It is easier on the hair than a straightener which still requires ironing and blow-drying. With a body wave you can allow it to air-dry if you want or you can blow-dry only. Hope this helps.

The main thing that will make a difference is getting a very good haircut. I have thick curly hair and always had such problems until I found a good hair stylist and now have no problems with it. It is unbelievable what a good haircut can do for your hair. Also, Aveda hair products work good to tame the frizz and so does Redken Smooth Down. When your out somewhere and see someone who has thick wavy/curly hair, maybe tell them you like their hair and ask them if they can refer you to a stylist who is good with that type of hair.

My hair is naturally curly and very very thick - don't use wax hair gel or any of that crap no1 cos if someone lights a match u will go up in smoke! and no2 cos it makes ur hair feel and look like crap after about 5 mins - go to a Hairdresser - prob a black one as they have to deal with some of the toughest hair that is how i solve my prob plus they will find it no prob to give u advice on what products to use. x Let me know the outcome x

try redken "straight line" apply 2 hair while wet den blow dry,use the straightens but try learn 2 blow dry by yourself it will take a while but ul get the hang of it, finish with a serum.

i had the same problem!
what i found helped was getting some choppy layers put in...takes off alot of the heaviness which can cause it to look bushy. also try putting some mousse in your hair when it is damp and scrunch it up...helps to make the waves look more refined and cuts back on the frizz.

if it's really thick, frizzy and curly, try leaving in your conditioner while it is still dripping wet rub in firm hold mouse comb with an Afro comb and let it drip dry, don't use hair dryer or towel dry
