usually some water, hairspray or gel whatever you have on hand. Gell is probably the best tho. if you keep your hair up then you should shower or wet it b4 you do so adding a little gel helps too.

First, if possible, you should get a cut with a pretty good amount of layers in it. A lot of people think that makes hair poofier, and while I suppose it could if done wrong, it actually lightens the hair up a LOT. I had that "poofy" problem for so long until I found a stylist who knew what she was doing. Now, with the layers, it lays SO much flatter and smoother. However, I also discovered Sunsilk Anti-Poof creme. It's awesome! It's not fool proof, but it definitely helps keep the hair a lot flatter.

You could also try some curl enhancing creams/sprays/gels if you want to make it wavier. Or, for a straight look, use a flat iron. It's all about trial and error and what look you are going for!

Try getting a mild relaxer at a salon. It will relax the waves so they are more manageable. Also try using a smoothing shampoo and Conditioner like Redken Smooth Down Shampoo and Conditioner. If you are going to flat Iron your hair use the Smooth Down Heat Glide. One pump on your whole head of dry hair then flat iron small sections at a time.

First I always recommend Pantene smooth and sleek, shampoo and conditioner. Next use a curl defining creme in your hair and let air dry, a curl defining creme is gonna tame the frizzies, the pantene will also do that, if you blow dry use a diffuser on your hair dryer, a diffuser is made to help with curly hair.
