How to tell if your hair is naturally wavy or straight?

When stylists ask me that, I'm not sure what to answer. It won't hold a curl, so it must be straight. On the other hand, it's kind of wavy in a sort of messy (as in not an attractive messy) way if I let it dry naturally, so it must be wavy. I don't know! How do you determine which it is?

I have a similar situation. When I grow it out, it truly is wavy, but right now it's shoulder length, and is exactly as yours is (except it flips at the tips...weird)

If someone asks, I'll call it somewhere in between or wavy/straight or relaxed. I guess relaxed is the right term. I don't know why each has to be so defined. You should just be able to say "it is what it is." and be done.

When you dry your hair, doesn't naturally or with a blowdryer, just don't use product. And after it's all dry, sleep on it, so sleep at night, the next day, your hair should and not poofy from they day before, look in the mirror, if it's pin straight, i guess it's straight. If there's little waves, then its wavy, but i also think you can caterorize your hair as straight/wavy
