I have the same type of hair, and I've straightened it about every day for 3 years. First, you should thoroughly wash your hair, and intensely condition it with Neutrogena 60 second hair repair conditioner. Just let it sit in your hair for a minute, and you'll notice that it's smoother. Then towel dry your hair, and turn your straightening iron on maximum heat. Instead of straighteningyour hair after it dries naturally (i don't know whether you do that or not), blow dry it as straight as possible by using a big round brush on sections of your hair, while blowdrying up and down. But only blowdry one side of your head at a time. When you're done blowdrying the first side, take your straightener and SLOWLY glide it from your scalp to the ends. However, don't leave it in one spot for very long at all, or it will cause split ends. Continue that with different small sections until your hair is straight. Do the same with the other side of your hair. Now as for trying to make your hair stay straight, you could do this at night before you go to bed, and then in the morning, go back over it with your straightening iron again. Or if you take a shower and do your hair in the morning like I do, put a non-hardening gel through your hair after your shower, and comb it through. Then straighten your hair like I just said, and hairspray it with Garnier Fructis Hairspray- it doesn't make your hair all stiff.

I've also gotten tired of straightening my hair the same old way every day. Try something new with your hair! Change is always good! One way to style your hair is to wait until it dries natural and wavy. Then take a one inch section of your hair, and hairspray it. Take a one-inch barrel curling iron and curl the strand. Then hairspray it again. Do the same throughout your whole head. Another beautiful, beachy way to do your hair, is after you take a shower at night, put gel in your hair and comb it through. Part your hair how you want it for the next morning. Then divide each side of your hair into four sections, that means eight sections altogether. Braid each section and secure with an elastic. You should have 4 braids on each side. Then take two of the four braids on one side, and twist it around the other two, and secure with an elastic. Do the same to the other side. When you wake up, take out the elastics (patiently! If you don't, you'll end up pulling some strands of hair out!) It should look like natural crimps/waves. I'm wearing my hair like that right now, I experimented last night! Well I hope this helped you a lot. %26lt;3

I have the same hair as you and I use protection spray/creme for my hair and it works GREAT! You can buy it at walgreens or CVS or something like that. Hope this helps! :) 閳?br>My hair is naturally wavy/frizz and i straighten it, how can i get it to look more smoothly natural straight?

I used to have the same problem, change your shampoo %26amp; conditioner to a kind that helps frizzy hair..for example jon frieda. Then buy john frieda hair serum and put it in your hair while its wet and just blow dry it and straighten it..that should help with your problem

I have the exact same problem. Firstly, if it doesn't stay straight, they're probably not using enough chemical because they prefer to err on the side of not damaging your hair as much. Yes, if you cut it the split ends will still come back, better to not bother and instead use an emollient conditioner that is able to temporarily "glue" the ends back together for the day (doesn't last after you wash it out with shampoo at the end of the day, it's an every day fix it measure). The split ends are completely due to the straightening, and will continue to exist as long as you have chemically straightened hair. Get a good conditioner, and get in the habit of leaving it in your hair for 3-5 minutes in the shower every day. It's like a mini deep conditioning treatment, and the hair absorbs more. Deep conditioning treatments are also good to do every month. You can also use a straightening iron on your hair if you feel it isn't straight enough, just make sure to put a protecting agent of some sort on your hair beforehand (leave in conditioner, straightening lotion -- yes, they have that -- or what have you). Also, your hair may feel less straight if you've let the roots grow out too long, because then it's poofing out your hair from the top. To make it more naturally straight, you may want to try a leave in conditioner just to minimize any frizz, or maybe a shine serum.

To minimize damage, avoid the following:

bleaching

colouring

blow-drying

swimming too frequently in chlorine pools

vigorous brushing

too much sun exposure (it dries out the hair)

my hair is the same way. I have found a hair straightener under $30 that works excelent. I use the Remington Wet to Straight. By straightening when the hair is damp, it actually makes it really soft and smooth, it also cuts down on frizz and the damage done to your hair. If you're looking for a little more volume, blow dry first and then section your hair and run the flat iron through, this gives it more volume and also makes it easier to curl the bottoms. My hair stays straight until i wash it. Hope this helps
